JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) 2026 conducted 6 rounds of counselling for admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). Each round below contains the complete seat allotment data with opening and closing ranks for all categories and quotas.
First offer round. Widest distribution of seats across all institutes and categories.
Upgrade round. Many candidates receive better allotments as vacant seats are reallocated.
Midpoint round. Good opportunity for upgrades before seat matrix tightens.
Most seats filled. Specific categories and institutes may still have vacancies.
Special round for candidates without prior allotment and those seeking upgrades.
Final JoSAA round. Remaining seats proceed to CSAB special rounds.
Seats remaining after JoSAA Round 6 are filled via CSAB 2026 special rounds. CSAB closing ranks are typically higher (easier to get) than JoSAA round 6.
